Habits are the foundation to your success. Habits also take time to develop. The beginning phase of creating a habit is the hardest part. It usually takes 21-30 days to develop a habit, until it can become as easy as brushing your teeth.

A good analogy is when a rocket ship is about to get blasted into space. It needs that first initial kick-start that’s strong, and then it keeps going from there, maintaining inertia at a much easier state. However, what will keep a person motivated to develop a habit?

First, have a purpose as to why you are trying to develop a certain habit. For example, you want to get into the habit of going to the gym 3-4 times a week. Why are you trying to do this? You probably want to take care of your health, look better, feel better, and ultimately be happier.

After you have a why, perhaps it’s a good idea to get an accountability partner. Set goals, and have someone hold you accountable for what it is you’re trying to achieve. If you don’t have an accountability partner, maybe you can use your social media, and have your following/online friends hold you accountable.

Always remember to reward yourself once you start progressing. What gets rewarded gets repeated. What is the whole point of doing anything if you’re not going to get rewarded or attain some sort of gain from it? That can be buying yourself something nice, indulging in your favorite sweet, or eating at your favorite restaurant.

Success is a mindset. If you want to become successful, you need to study success and learn how to develop your habits. That includes reading books about success/habits, studying successful people, attending seminars/events, and getting mentorship from people who achieved whatever it is you’re trying to achieve.

Attain awareness from your current habits and humble yourself in order to develop better habits that you can learn from people who are at a more progressed level than yourself. Believe that if someone else is successful, you can be too. It all comes down to learning the correct strategies, and consistently applying what you’ve learned on a day-to-day basis, aka your habits.

Create rituals and a structured plan in order to get to where you want to go. You can do this by writing down your daily tasks and checking them off through your day. If you don’t know how to do this, hire someone to help you. Learn to implement your newly learned habits from your knowledge, and don’t doubt that you can develop any new habit of success.
